Dr. Wells has a strong desire to continue to improve in his knowledge and chiropractic skills so that he may provide the best possible treatment to his patients by not only relieving your pain but also improving your body’s overall function in the shortest amount of time possible.

Dr. Wells believes not only is it his responsiblity in helping his patients relieve their symptoms and improving in their overall function, but just as important, in educating his patients on how to reduce their risk of reinjury.

The author, Gray Cook, notes in his book, “Movement”, the number one risk factor for musculoskeletal injury is a previous injury, implying that our rehabilitation process is missing something. He continues explaining that although the current medical and rehabilitation model can manage the pain and symptoms resulting from an initial injury, they have less ability to influence the likelihood of a recurrence. Mr. Cook notes that the medical and rehabilitation process should not just manage the painful episode, but also target and contain the recurrence risk factors. By simply screening movement once pain has been managed and resolved, the medical or rehabilitation professional can gauge the chance or recurrence and advise the patient on how to reduce their risk.
